Become a member
Why should you become a member of the federation, as a Forró organiser, musician or teacher?
Because the Federation aims to support you and others like you. Together we can create network effects that alone are not possible.
You can and we also ask you to vote on the projects the federation should work on and that we can make happen with your membership contribution: Roadmap
If you have another idea about what the federation should work or spend money on, please submit your proposal to this overview
What the federation already did:
- Create the central World Forró Map displaying all Forró organisers, musicians and teachers
- Run the “Call for Projects 2022” with 4 funded winner projects
- Publish the “ForróLetters” newsletter with news, history, music and culture surrounding Forró
- List all Forró event platforms that we know of to promote your events or Festivals – for you to use and forrozeiros to easily find your events
- Start a Blog category for professionals giving tips on how you can improve as an organiser, musician or teacher
Here you find more info about our mission and check out our full roadmap.
We love to support you through network effects that become possible when you vote and even more when you become a member.

- Many festivals need helpers and offer discount or even free tickets if you commit to help a few hours.
-
What should i know before i visit my first festival?
- Many festival locations don´t have a great air condition, so you might want to bring a spare t-shirt.

-
How much experience should i have before i go to my first festival?
- As a leader it might be smart to do at least one ore two dance courses before you visit your first festival. But remember a nice dance is not about making a huge amount of movements. Its more about feeling and dancing to the music.
- As a follower you can go immediately. It might be smart to ask good dancers for improvement suggestions or even to take a private class, which usually all Forró teachers offer around a festival.
